Lighting Design Trends On A Budget

When it comes to lighting in your home, the first thing you should aim to achieve is as much natural light as possible. This can make your property feel airy and homely, and will make it particularly attractive to potential buyers if you are planning to sell it in the future. If your home is lacking in this, there are of course some artificial options to help you create an ambience to suit your mood.

Kitchen

One of the most important improvements you can make to a kitchen is to make sure you have adequate lighting – this is particularly important for when you are preparing food and entertaining guests. Track lighting is a good option for ceiling lighting, as it allows you to direct light to specific areas of the kitchen, while built-in LED lights are good for creating unique kitchen design. For example, you can install a single light or, alternatively, pendant lighting fixtures that hang from the ceiling for every workspace, your stove and island.

Bathroom

Bathrooms require task lighting but also mood lighting and the decorative touches of accent lighting. Combine lighting techniques – mix and match spotlights, track lights and recessed lights.
